Wounded Knee

Wounded Knee is Drew Wright, a singer, experimental vocalist and occasional children's entertainer based in Edinburgh who has been active since 2004. Drawing from a variety of influences his music ranges from stripped down folk balladry to abstract improvised vocalic stravaigs. He is primarily a solo performer and uses an Akai Headrush 2 loop pedal or accompanies his singing with a Shruti Box or twa string guitar. Wounded Knee runs Krapp Tapes, and has released music on Benbecula, Gerry Loves Records, Twos & Fews (Drag City), Sick Head Tapes, Pjorn72, Kovorox Sound, Nuts & Seeds and Matching Head, as well as a number of limited self-released issues on his own labels Lapsed Electronics, Shazzblat and Weird Fidelity.
